Magnetic separators work with ores as their processing target. After a period of use, sludge and impurities are likely to accumulate inside the machine. Therefore, regular cleaning is necessary. Regular cleaning not only keeps the machine cleaner but also extends its service life. Then, how should the machine be cleaned?
When cleaning a permanent magnetic separator, we must use appropriate mechanical cleaning agents—usually oil as a solvent. Disassembling the equipment for cleaning would require a large amount of water, which will accelerate the corrosion and wear of the equipment. So, what requirements should be met for the cleaning of magnetic separators in practical work? After cleaning, the surfaces of the magnetic source and medium should be smooth and clean; there should be no sludge left on the machine surface, no residues in the iron discharge channel, and the cleaning should be thorough. Additionally, no sewage or impurities should be reintroduced, as this will affect the accuracy of the magnetic separator in future operations. At the same time, attention should be paid to environmental protection during cleaning: toxic reagents and low-quality reagents must not be used, as they not only pollute the environment but also cause significant damage to the equipment. After cleaning, all parts of the equipment must be installed in a dry and undamaged condition.
